I also must give the most credit to my wonderful wife who taught me to shoot at the age of 62 and encouraged my interest.
May we all be so blessed.
Some time ago, my wife "suggested" I limited my "collection" to about 20. Now that I have several times that, she only complains of the mess I leave when digging one out. She has limited herself to 3.

OfflineHello, if anyone could help me I'd sure appreciate it. I've got a dan wesson i got from my father, its a 357 made in Monson. The serial number is 6 digits long only numbers, no letters. I have looked everywhere but come up empty handed. I'm looking for information on the serial number like date of mfg, etc. It has a 6in interchangeable rib vented barrel on it. It is missing the grip which I would like to find the original that goes on it. Everything I have found shows an alpha numeric serial which mine does not have. Thank you in advance for any help or information someone could offer.

OfflineSounds like you have a Model 15, 15-1 or most probably a 15-2. Pics would really help us figure it out. Is the rear sight adjustable or is it fixed?
The early 15's only had numeral serial numbers. Our Serial Number Registry should get us close to the year of manufacture.
Most likely, your revolver came with a Target grip and can be found on eBay.

OfflineI have one that sounds similar the the one just mentioned. I'm trying to also find out any info about it that I can. It's 357mag but I can't tell if it's small frame or large frame. I would call it large frame, but it doesn't say "super mag" anywhere on it.
It's a 6 in vented barrel, Monson manufactured. 6digit no letters 2552xx

OfflineGood evening.
Im new here, just picked up my first Dan Wesson at a local gun show. I believe it to be a 15-2, from what I gather from a few different forums. SN is 110xxx, which I think dates it to about 1977…..?
Not having much luck with pictures, but I’ll try to add one.
OK, dumb question time. How do I add a picture using an iPad? The tutorial is obviously using a regular computer……..?

Tried that. It’s for a computer. It wants you to go to a directory and upload a file.
there appears to be no way to open the photo library on an iPad and select a photo. :-{

OfflineHey everyone!
Recently was gifted a Dan Wesson .357 Magnum from my dad and have been trying to track down the model and possible year of manufacture. From browsing through this topic, I've picked up on a few traits and features of the gun that may help a more experienced Dan Wesson owner figure it out. My dad said he bought it off of my uncle around 2007 and my uncle used to use it for competition shooting and occasionally hunting, but I don't have much other history on it.
It appears to be black metal (not bluish like I've seen on some models, but definitely not stainless either), with a 6 inch, interchangeable, rib-vented barrel. I see no markings indicating "Super Mag", so I believe it's a small frame. It does have the adjustable sights as well and other posts on this topic lead me to believe that means it's a target model, not a service model. The grip says it's a Pachmayr Presentation grip which I assume my uncle probably put on when he was still using it for competition. It has a 6 digit serial number stamped on it with only numbers, no letters, was manufactured in Monson, and I cannot find any other stamps anywhere on the gun indicating the model.
If anyone could help me in narrowing down the specific model and year of manufacture (as well as any other neat facts y'all may have haha), that would be greatly appreciated! I've attached two (hopefully clear) images of my new and first Dan and will try to answer any questions or provide any more info needed to help narrow it down. Forgive the smudges/fingerprints, she's going to be getting some cleaning and TLC as soon as possible!

Welcome to the forum from PA!!! I think it's a model 15-2. Not 100% as I don't know my serial numbers as well as others on here. If I am wrong then it would be a model 15.
Thanks, fellow Pennsylvanian!
I was leaning towards some version of 15, but this whole thread has shown me there's many nuances I was not even aware of lol. Thanks for the fast reply!
