OfflineWelcome to the DWF from a former Pennsylvanian! Yes, definitely a model 15-2. My best guess on vintage would be 1980 ish, but far more informed members will be more precise. Looks to be well used yet well cared for. The trigger over travel stop screw seems to be backed out a little farther than normal, but I guess it works ok. For competitive shooting most users want a very close setting. Enjoy!!

It was definitely well-used years ago during my uncle's competition shooting days for sure! Since my dad's owned it, it's largely been relegated to being broken out once in a blue moon on a canoe float so I'm hoping to give it new life and some renewed use for the first time in a while.
I noticed the trigger over-travel stop being backed out really far as well and I'm going to ask my uncle why he had it set that way. I assume maybe a preference when he hunted with it? It definitely makes for an light single-action pull with how smooth the mechanics are on a Dan already, but I kinda like it haha.
Thanks for the reply!

Much appreciated! This seems to be the most complete, accurate answer from what I've been able to find digging around through posts on here. Is there any way to narrow down a manufacture date by the serial number and manufacturing location that you know of?
Just got a day off to clean and lubricate it and got to put about 60-70 rounds down range. Looks, feels, and shoots like it's straight out the display case. Feeling very lucky my first pistol ended up being a Dan

Tell us the serial number with the last 2 digits xed out and the address,Monson or Palmer ,and we can get close to the manufacturing date. So can you if you study the Forum topics. .
That was my bad, I included pictures with the serial number on it, but I should've also included it in the text of the post as well.
As Stinger said, it's 3671XX and location is Monson, Mass.
From what I've been able to gather browsing through the forums, it seems like it was made sometime in the early to mid-1980s (assuming the numbers go in sequential order from other 15-2VH's I saw posted with their dates). Beyond that though, I can't confidently dial it in further myself. Maybe that's as far narrowed down as I can get without any actual documentation?
Editing this after browsing through the serial number registry a bit. When comparing to other 15-2 small frame target models' serial number, generally speaking, 6 digit serial numbers of this particular model beginning with 37XXXX are predominantly made in 1986. The closest serial number I could find sequentially to mine was a 368XXX made in 1985. I'm going to safely assume it was probably made 1984-1986 with most likely year being 1985.
Thanks again to everyone for such active and fast responses/help!
is the best!
Yup,you got as close as anyone can get. All records are collected by BATF and stored after each of 3 or 4 ownership changes. They sit in a warehouse and they are pre digital. The earliest serial numbers of guns with the improved sideplate and knurled hammer tang that I have seen was 372xxx. That was sometime in 1986.
