Yup, they sent me the wrong ones as well. I called the main number listed on the invoice, 508-635-4273, and talked with customer service. They're not sure why the wrong ones have been sent out to so many of us. The guy on the phone was confused as he thought he had talked to me already. I guess we've all called them.

The correct sights should be shipped out to me today, and if for some reason they forget to include a return shipping label I've been instructed to just keep the Rugers. :)

Now I will wait again.

Things are looking up! I just received this afternoon 2 nifty new white outline rear sights!

Night work this week so whenever I find a lucid moment I am anxious to try one. Hmmm only 2 sights and so many Dans...

They must like me, I called yesterday, was told they don't have in stock, and to send back they will reimburse me. Ask who was to pay for the shipping back, they said me? It will only cost you a few dollars!

Just recieved these at the office. :)

They sent along a return shipping label for the ruger's they sent me by mistake. It's interesting that almost every one of us was sent the wrong sights.

I received mine a couple of days ago. They were the correct ones. Installed both sets  already. Fit perfect but the elevation screw seemed to be a different thread. I used the originals. Anybody else find that to be the case?  Thanks so much for the info!!laughing

Hello All,

FYI......I placed an order for one of the Millet rear sights on thurs. I received email that it was backordered. I contacted Melanie at melanie.herbert@kahr.com and was told that due to high demand, which would be us laugh, it would take 4-6 weeks to get it from the manufacturer. I made it  clear that i needed the white outline T sight and not the ruger bird.... interesting ?

Well, I've run into a snag with mine. I tried to put one of the sights on my 744. It fits just fine, but the threads are wrong. I think that's been mentioned in this thread before. I tried the elevation screw from the stock rear sight. It does work, but the head of the screw is visible in the sight window.

Any suggestions for a fix? I have not tried these on a small frame yet.

SMKYTXN,  Thats disappointing.... Is the screw head too thick or are the threads too long ?

The threads are finer on the millets. The length is fine, but the threads kind of kill it. I'll check the threads on the small frame later for compatibility.

Well I have a Millet sight mounted. I ran into the same hurdle as Smkytxn's, the screw supplied with the sight is not compatible with our Dans. The original screw suck out more than I liked, also resulting in very little height adjustment.

Another difference, my original sight has a 1/8"(.125") sight picture width, but the new Millet has a narrower 1/16"(.0625").

So I will tell you what I did. Let me say I am not recommending this for anybody, but it worked well for me. I countersunk the hole for the screw with a 1/4" drill bit, just until the screw head is flush at the top. Works nice and the screw still grabs the serrations to give a good 'click' feel when adjusting. To remedy the sight picture, I took a spare front sight and filed carefully .031" from each side then gave it a cold blue. Came out nice I think. Looking at the sight picture now I really like the whole setup, actually I will leave the next front sight a bit wider to fill the notch better.

Have not shot it yet but I am liking it, and the crisp Millet rear dresses up the look of the revolver compared to the old wobbly faded original sight.

Lonewolf93, im thinking there must be a variation in the sights. The screw supply with my sight fit perfectly and the notch on the blade is wider. You can see a pic on my first post and tell that it's wider. I haven't paid attention to my second one yet too see if it's like the first sight or like yours. Ill have to look.

Md,

Yes I looked at your pic after I got my sights, I thought yours looked like the same width as the original Dan Sight. Both Milletts I got are narrow notches. Once I modified a front sight to match, I actually like the narrow better but a range trip will tell. You are right there must be a variation of the sights they have. But I figured that whatever I got I will work with, I am not sure if any more will be forthcoming from Magnum Research, we may have wiped them out.

The Milletts I got took a bit of work to put into use, but I really like the end result. But I like little projects to tinker on.

Lonewolf,

im the same way, I'm always tinkering with something. My second sight is narrow like yours so when I get another dan ill remember what you did. the narrow blade reminds me of some of the old silhouette sights. It may match up nicely to a ewk fiber optic front sight or maybe a patrige type sight. If not ill narrow one like you did.

I have the EWK fiber optic front sights on mine. They pretty much take up the whole notch but so far it hasn't bothered me. I need to shoot them some more to be sure. I got them both shooting to POA.

I usually don't resurrect an old thread but check this out. Last September, I placed an order for 2 of the Millett sights from Magnum Research. They went to backorder, and knowing that Millett does not make the sights anymore I figured there was no chance of the order being filled.

Well, a couple days ago I got an email from Kahr that my order has shipped. It had been so long, and I forgot that MRI is under the Kahr umbrella, so I assumed maybe my credit card# had been stolen. Called Kahr, and in talking to a great rep soon we realized they had just shipped my sights backordered since September! Doubtful that I would receive real Milletts, I told the guy to let the order ship and I would see what I get.

Fedex this afternoon dropped off the package, 2 fresh new Milletts for BFRs which will fit just dandy on a couple Dan Wessons!

I don't know how they got them, or if Millett ran a batch off for Magnum Research or what. Neat that I got them though-

Just got 2 BFR rear sights in today.  The rear notches measure 0.125.  I talked to Magnum Research last week and specified in my order that I wanted the narrow notch.  So, I just got off the phone with them and they said that the narrow 0.0625 notch is no longer produced.  I will be sending them back for a refund.  I am now going to contact Bowen to see what they have to offer.  I know it will be more expensive.

I really need a narrow notch when shooting an 8 inch barrel.  There is so much space on each side of the front sight when looking through a factory DW 0.125 rear sight.

Well, I just ordered Ruger rear sights from Brownells.  I also purchased the narrow notches for the Ruger sights.  From what I understand the narrow notches are 0.1 which is slightly narrower than DW notches.  Mine measure 0.125.  Hope the 25 thousandths make the sight picture better.

OK, Magnum Research still shows the white outline rear sight as available. I'm going to bite, but placing a warning in the order comment box to supply the white outline sight they show on their website or I'll demand a refund. We'll see what gives as of 11/27/2014.

Another supplier seems to be Bowen Classic Arms, but their price is quite a bit higher at $99.

We'll see.

I have wanted to buy a Bowen sight but haven't done it yet.  A few years ago I emailed him and he wouldn't confirm they will fit a DW but I think they will since other Ruger sights I have tried do.  Also I have never heard a bad word about anything Bowen.
