ok I've recently found out some interesting rear sight information that i wanted to let you guys in on. We all know that ruger rear sights our beloved small frame dans. You have the factory ruger micro sight and the Williams fiber optic variety. Recently I was looking at magnum research bfr's and I noticed that they use a rear sight identical to a ruger rear without the ruger redhawk/blackhawk bird on it, I formally had a ruger rear with the bird and thought wow I can get one without it because the ruger bird on my dan kinda bothered me. I went to their website to inquire on this paticular sight and found that its 24.00, but then I found something even more interesting. Magnum research had an upgrade for their bfr listed as a millett white outline adjustable sight. We all know millett iknow defunct in the revolver sight department so I figured this must be a mistake. I was wrong they actually have millett rear sights in stock for 39.99. I've ordered two sets and the first came in today and ive already installed it, perfect fit on my 15-2 8vh. I've wanted a set of millers for this gun for a while and now I have them. I don't know how many they have in stock but I have one on my gun as we speak. I will post pics as soon as I can figure out how too. Your very welcome SMKYTXN. I'm glad to be of Help. I almost went into shock when I saw those I think the milletts have the best sight picture IMO. I hate that they dont make them anymore. I went ahead and bought two because ive have no idea how many they have. I have a millett on my 28-2 smith Also. The front sights are also millett, orange bar, high for 15-2's and .41's/.44's. it was an eBay score a couple of months ago. You have some very nice dans btw.

Well that info just cost me close to a hundred bucks. Very cool though, thanks. I bet they are wondering what is going on with all the rear sight orders!

Well don't get too excited. I just received the 2 sights that I ordered. I used the link that md357 posted. I got 2 Ruger plain rear sights. Complete with Ruger logo. The kind that Midway sells for 15 bucks. WTF.
Will contact Magnum Research and update you when I find out anything.

Well that's unfortunate. My two sights should show up Monday. Hopefully they're the correct ones. If not they're be going back for a refund. Fingers crossed

mine just showed up, their with Ruger logo and are not with the white outlined, like the description
states. Will be sending mine back.

My second one showed up today as well and it's the plain ruger logo too. I called them and was told they had made a mistake and would be sending me the correct one as ordered. The lady I talked to went and got the correct one and described it too me and what she described was a millett. I don't know what has happened but she said they were sending me the correct sight and to send the plain one back. I'm hoping I didn't get the only one they had, I feel pretty bad right now. The first one they sent me was correct. I'm terribly sorry for the trouble I've caused you guys I really though I'd found the holy grail here

I got the backordered email, then 10 minutes later I got the your order has been shipped email with a tracking #.
Checked the Tracking # on Fedex and it was legit.
If they are Ruger they will be headed back.

Hey no worries md357! you definitely made an awesome find there. You didn't cause any trouble, we are glad you posted your discovery. I will return the ones I got, and hopefully get the ones I want.
You can imagine my surprise when I opened them up though, and found Ruger sights complete with the emblem!
Md357, could you post the phone # you called, or who you talked to in getting your order straightened out? I called the # on my receipt, was transferred to customer service, he gave me 2 other #s to call neither of which got back to me yet. I will be away over the weekend so I want to try them again Monday.

Thanks lonwolf93 thee number I called was the same number that you called, the one on the invoice. The lady I talked to was in customer service and it seems like her name was Linda but I'm not 100%. The one that she went and got and described to me had to be a millet because she said that "it has a funny white shape on it" and the other one she was looking at had a "bird with a r in it" I told her the funny looking white one was the correct one I that I was supposed to get

Hello guys.... New member here, but a long time Dan Wesson fan. I'm looking for a new rear sight for my Model 741. The white outline, has seen better days. Will the rear mentioned, work with "741"?
I just took the time to measure the Model 741 and 15-2 rear sights, looks like I answered my own question. Two different sizes.
Now, any information as to finding a rear sight for the 741, would be appreciated.
