Hey, I got my first revolver and joined to learn more about it. I have alot of gun types (AK's, AR's, Beretta 90 series, Springfield XD's, Glocks, and HK's) but the Dan Wesson 44 mag is my first revolver. I polished it and made grips for it (Tanned Python skin covering a rubber hogue modified to form better to my finger grip - feels like grabbing a live snake lol2 ) before even getting it out on the range. (Its a habit...) so my biggest question is where can i find out how to take it apart so i can see the internals? (I like to clean and polish the action. I done this to all my guns before.)

Welcome to the DWF.

Those grips look cool.

There is a link to servicing your large frame DW but I can't remember what it is.  Someone with a better memory will come along and post it for you.

Thanks, Mike.  I now have them both bookmarked so I don't have to look so stupid next time.

Thanks guys! I'll post later. I have more questions. I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to many guns but revolvers are a new league for me.

I do have one dumb question. Can someone tell me what Model of Dan Wesson revolver I have and also what's the shortest barrel I can get for it?

I'm hoping to find a 2.5 inch because I already have 10 and 6 inched barrels.

You have a Model 744...and a sweet one at that!laugh

The shortest barrel assembly available is easily found by clicking the "EWK" link in the right side bar of this page. ---->

From the factory, I think 4" was the shortest offered.  EWK made some 2.5's, 3's and 4's but I think all are out of stock except some blue 2.5's, double check.    Nice gun you grabbed.  I have a EWK 2.5 for my 744 and it is a real handful to shoot with full house 44mag loads.  Gets attention at the ranges I can tell you, throws a nice fireball.

BTW the model of you gun is a 744 with Vent Heavy 6 and VH-8 barrel assemblies.

Welcome to the forum. That's a beauty. You are going to really enjoy shooting it. There's a very good tip in that link about reinstalling the trigger assembly.

Just one question...aren't you supposed to go from north to south in the winter??? big-grin

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?
