6" 15-2 Heavy. The Pachmayr Grippers are my favorite grips, but it came with a set of large, wood target grips. I tried the Hogue Monogrips, and really didn't like them.

I have an EWK 2" Heavy barrel assembly with red fiber-optic sight in the mail. I'll post a pic with it wearing those when it arrives.

I own a Colt King Cobra, and the DW's trigger rivals it. I'm very satisfied with this gun, although it doesn't like CCI primers AT ALL. I was concerned it might be the grip screw, hammer spring, etc...nothing I tweaked stopped my light primer strikes. I switched to Winchester primers and have had zero problems, so...I'll just chalk it up to CCI primers being a touch harder.

It shoots my cast 158 FPs like a laser. I really dig the DW concept and trigger design.

Welcome to the forum from PA, and nice job on a first post, you have the model right, and a nice pic! I have not had trouble with CCI primers, but I do believe they are said to be harder than others.

Welcome! I agree- nice job on your first post.  You say you cast?  What mould are you using for your DW?

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

In 357 mag, I use the 158gr RF, lubed with Blue Angel.

In 38 special, I use either the 158, or the 148gr wadcutter lubed with LLA.

And, FWIW, my Colt would occasionally have light primer strikes with the CCI primers too. My only use for them now is reloading small primer 45ACP. My 1911s don't have an issue with them.

I'm really excited about my EWK barrel assembly. I'm so happy he's doing what he's doing. I have an 8" rail assemblyin my future for whitetail. drool

That's interesting that your DW doesn't like CCI's. I use them almost exclusively & rarely have an issue with any of my DW's.

dwf-welcome aboard & thanks for showing off your 15-2!smile

One other light strike culprit can be incomplete travel of the firing pin, due to dried lubricant, powder residue, etc. in the channel that the firing pin travels in.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Here it is with the EWK 2.5 assembly and fiber-optic sight. I'm very pleased!

I'll have to check that out, Steve. Am I correct that I'll need to drive out a pin to disassemble it? I don't have time to take it apart at the moment.

Yep you need to drive out a pin to remove the firing pin. It is covered in the Average Joe tuneup, a great thread if you havent read it already

A quick fix try on this would be to kind of "flood" the firing pin area from both ends with an aerosol type CLP, maniplulate the firing pin back and forth, let it sit, dry it out with some "canned air".

I took it out today, shot a bunch of middle-of-the-road 357s through it. It was shooting VERY high as 7yds....realized I had the fiber-optic sight installed backwards. mad

Took it home, did a complete disassembly, including the firing pin, cleaned a "small" amount of gooey, black fouling out of the firing pin cavity, cleaned it up and put it back together....with the front sight showing the high side towards the shooter...I'll have to take it out and re-zero it, but that shouldn't take but a minute...

I got four shots through 2 holes and two "called" flyers inside 2" at 7yds offhand. Not great, but I was shooting about 8" high at that range. Even after adjusting the rear sight down as far as it would go, it was still about 4" high...sigh..

Shot a few mags thru the 1911 and went home.
