so what is the value on a 15" barrel and shroud for a heavy barrel 15-2 357 worth? I know not many made and they don't become available often so it's really hard to pin point a value on one.

A blued one just sold on Gunbroker for 1085.00 which was a good buy, they have sold for more.

Stainless will go considerably higher

Well I ended up buying one with the box for a little less than the one on GunBroker. I watched the one on GunBroker. I rarely see them and then found two in one week.

At least I now have the complete collection of barrels so my life is complete.

We fondly refer to that as a Super Pack.

I figure all barrels 10" and up at $100.00 an inch if they are perfect and in the original box.

Great to know. Only my 10" doesn't have the box. 12" is brand new but 15" is minor use with the box.

If only my wife appreciated the super pack as much as I did.

Well, 'Size Matters' poke

Just "funnin' a bit on this topic, and never losing sight of the fact that  DW allowed shooters to go from tiny>small>average>large>pretty damn>big>OMGbig-grin on the same gun.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'm pretty sure that one was stainless.  I looked at it many times, but did not bid.

I am trying to resist becoming a collector of DW items, hard as that might be.  I do have the basic .357 stainless barrels that came with the 715 pistol pack, and would love it if DW just made some of the other lengths available in their web store, but am now focusing on acquiring a .44 Magnum, without which life will probably be impossible.

I think the stainless barrel was about a week before the blue barrel...and might have been shorter to boot.

If DW made new ones available they would not be Monson or Palmer. Purists demand they match, the quantity is finite. Prices will only go up. I think that there are a lot more of the 15 "VH then urban legend says. We should do a tabulation of members. I have 2. That starts the count going. I think between Ron, Scott, Harly, Willy, ( not you Steve, we know you only collect 4") and others serious collectors,  the total is far more. And Big oak, one 44 mag will just get you started. 41mag, 45 colt, supermags, etc are the next step. DWAS is incurable. It can only be put in remission by low funds.
