Okay, I've done it!  I guess when I changed out my 10" barrel and shroud to put the 4" on I did not realize the 4" was ported!

As you can guess I removed the barrel nut and the shroud will not come off!  Any suggestions?

I can't believe I did this! Embarassed

Okay... I got it off... with a little help from my gunsmith hammer (plastic end of course).

I think it's time for me to call up Genny and get a 4" non-ported barrel.

No way, the cat's outta the bag now!

I'm glad you got it off, how many rounds did you put through it? Just wondering how fast it takes for the issue to arise.

Leave the posts here...we learn from others mistakes. I would tell you all about my shooting mistakes, but I have never made any. Wink

A Legend in His Own Mind

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I am looking forward to the day that I have so many barrel combos that I have the same mistake!

If you don't make mistakes, you ain't doin nothin!

BTW, great game with Mich St and UConn right now!  (Maybe I broke a rule here!)Laugh

No rule broken, basically the only rule here is to have good, clean fun- I'm an MSU  Alumni, my daughter, and my money,  graduated from UConn, and I have lived in CT for well over 20 years. If I'm not mistaken, both MSU and UConn have teams (men's and women's) in their Final  Four's. I can't lose tonite!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My cousin was with me as I was trying to remove the shroud.  Once I got this shroud off he said I should delete this post! Laugh

I don't think I hit the 200 round count since putting that shroud on but my big mistake was shooting lead bullets!  That's a big no no with the power control barrels!  I have a few barrel and shroud combo's but I didn't think I had any power control barrels!

It's definitely going to take some serious cleaning on both the inside of the shroud and the outside of the barrel!

But I can report that the 744 was a tack driver today!
