I recently changed the firing pin in my Dan Wesson 357 magnum CTG made in Monson,Mass, i fired it for the first time yesterday and got six misfires while pulling the trigger normally & pointing at a paper target, but when i cocked the hammer back and then fired, it worked well for all six rounds.Any particular reason for this mishap ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you change the springs?  Was the firing pin slot clean and evenly round?  Were you using factory ammo?  I put lighter springs on my 357 and it would only fire double action with Winchester primers; which are the softest of the primers.  I ended up mixing up my springs; lighter return spring/ factory hammer spring; got a lighter trigger that shot any primers.  Usually a single action fire and not double action indicates a light hammer spring, but any number of things including a dirty or dinged firing pin slot .  The impact is harder on single action because the hammer is slightly further back and more compression of the hammer spring.

Greeting Robert, no i did not change my springs but i would like to, yes my firing pin slot is clean & evenly rounded, yes i was using some crappy ammo.Robert can you point me in the direction of the exact springs i would need ? for some strange reason the firing pin is not striking the center of the primer it's striking the bottom of the primer, but when i fire up in the air it hit's the center dead on,any solutions ?

To the Lt or Rt is a timing issue, I'm lost about it hitting the bottom, unless the cylinder is loose on the crane enough to allow it to cant down; it would only take a few thousandth to produce low strikes and would center when held verticle as it would center on the cylinder aligning ball.  Is the cylinder movable(End shake) when the hammer is held back and trigger in full pull; maximum lock-up position?  I forgot to mention earlier that the ejector spring has a very small bushing on the end, looks like a small rivet, if the spring jumps, it will separate and is impossible to find.  If you don't have an older owner's manual with the exploded view; you might consider getting one; check Ebay, that's where I got mine.  One manual covers mod 40 to 745.  You might also check with CZ if they have an exploded diagram.
