I just got a 357 DW 6" and the serial number begins with SD02xxxx. Does that mean anything? I ain't even shot it and I like it. Just wondering about the birth date it may have and is it a 15 or 715 (not fixed barrel).

Judging by your serial number it is a 715 (SD is stainless). Welcome to the DWF !!! Let's see some pics ....

So far, the best tool we have as to narrowing down manufacture dates is through the Registry (info at the right of this screen). According to the list, your gun was probably born in the vicinity of 1986...give or take a little.

when you can.
