There is some very limited info on this forum under "OTHER", then select Serial Numbers. This information comes from members that purchased new with the approximate purchase date. Unfortunately, there's not much info there.

I have a model 14-2 that I purchased as a service weapon. I was sworn in to my department in December '82 so I believe I purchased it within plus or minus one month of 12/15/82 (most likely minus, or Nov. '82).
The serial number is 250XXX. (edited to conceal last three numbers).
I still have the original foam shipping case, tools, etc. I believe I also have the original receipt somewhere. If I find it, I'll post the info here.
