I have been looking at scope mounts for my SuperMag.

I really do not want to drill a hole in the original shroud, but would be for the new barrel / shroud I will be ordering soon.

What scope mounts do you guys prefer, Clamp-on or bolt on? Are there any others?

B-Square makes one that clamps on the vent rib.  http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=181793

Weigand makes one. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=690647

Warne makes one. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=674913

Thanks

David

I've had the B-square on my 357 Supermag for about 10 years and it's still tight.  I had gotten a spare shroud so I can shoot with or without the scope.  With a spare shroud you could go ahead and have it tapped for a perm. mount.

I have a B-Square clamp on and a Weigand tapped mounted an d both perform well.  I also would not drill and tap a shroud unless I had a spare.

I used my old blued B-Square mount for load testing, and it worked fine. It's kind of a pain to get the front and rear set screws tightened just right to get on target. All my load testing in the last 10 years has been with iron sights, so the mount just sits in the safe.
