So I bought this barrel with the holes drilled for a Dan Wesson ported barrel. The drill holes are a bit off maybe by 1/4 to 3/8 inch lining up with the opening in the shroud. Will that affect the way the ported barrel works? I noticed the holes are drilled all around the barrel also so I was thinking it's more about pressure relief than the holes lining up with the opening in the shroud am I correct or will this effect the way the ported barrel works? That's to all!20230517_092801.jpgImage Enlarger

That's the way it works- ported, not compensated.  Hence the reason many folks prefer not to run the ported barrels; all that junk blown out by the gasses ends up inside your shroud. Clean often!

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I understand what you're saying about ported barrels but I need an answer about the question. Will the holes in the barrel not lining up with the hole in the shroud pose a problem or does it not matter since it's about relieving pressure and not having the holes directly below the holes in the shroud? Thanks

You are correct, the holes do not line up.  It’s about pressure relief only, they’re not like a compensator.  I hope we’ve answered. You’ve brought up good questions…and the answers can be read by future Dan owners too.
