I've seen quite few plum DW's lately. Is this fairly common? One of the things I loved about DW's in the 80's was their beautiful bluing. I know some collectors like it, but I must say it's not as appealing on a DW.

The plum coloring was a result of the bluing process and the metal composition of the revolvers when exposed to the elements.  I've seen safe queens that looked the deep blue of a new gun, but most that have been fired for years have taken on the plum color
