Does anyone Know the type and color of the fabric used in pistol packs?  I have one that is missing the fabric covering the foam on the bottom of the case. Also, does anyone know were I could find some? Thank you for any input.

Yellow is the most common. Look around the forum of other members

packs, you can probably come up with a close match at a fabric store.

I have bought some at JoAnn Fabrics (I use the yellow).  However, they don't always have it in stock.  Just be sure you get something with some stretch to it so that it can conform to the foam well.

It's a coincidence this subject should come up today.  I just spent the last few days running around trying to find some material.  I bought some last year at JoAnn fabrics that was a good match so I thought I'd just go back and buy some more.  NOT – it was discontinued.  After running around to 3 different JoAnn stores, I came up empty handed.  So…I dyed my own material.  I used a felt (Correction - flannel) material and it actually came out pretty nice.

If you need some shoot me a PM.

Not glad to hear that.  I have several cases that need new fabric.

Well, I can't be much help. I didn't keep my fabric store receipts. Although I'm pretty sure they simply called it "fabric" x $2.xx per yard, or whatever.embarassed

I should probably go back & look for more.

Whatever it is, it looks really close to the original DW fabric. Just a wee bit darker, but the texture is almost spot-on. It's a little more fuzzy on one side, and that's the side I have out against the gun.

You can make out some of the fuzzy here…

Fabric 'X' sounds super secret, you might need a permit to buy it in the lower 48.

It is a hard match to achieve--part of the reason I use different colors in my custom Pacs.

A lot of the fabric stores have felt that is close to the DW gold.  I prefer to use Stretch Velvet in my cases as it lays much nicer in the Pac.
