Ok, I figured out how to insert pictures.  This might show some clarity on my problem.  I have ruined to set of grips trying to get them to fit this tang.  I've tried to modify the grips, but after you drill them deeper there usually isn't enough left at the bottom.  On the Hogue rubber grips I bought, I could drill deep enough, but they split the back of the grips.  From the research I have done there appears to be two type of grips; large frame and small frame.  The large frame are suppose to have a round tang?  and the small frame are suppose to have a square tang?  I assume I have a small frame, but the tang is obviously longer than any spec sheets I have seen and is thicker too.  If anyone can help, I truly thank you.

Try a set from a large frame not sure if they are cut deeper though should fit over square.  Can you show us the side plate and rest of Dan?

First of all Welcometo the DWF Sign. OK you have a problem. But maybe we can help. As said obviously yours is not the regular DW, so can we see a picture of the whole gun and try to identify it. I may (and I stress may) be able to fix you up. It is virtually impossible to build a grip without the gun to fit it to but I probably can make you a inletted blank in rough shape and let you do the final fitting. If interested get some more pics and PM me and we will see what we can do. I just hope you are not in a big hurry as the back log is building.

I'm sure LB will be able to help you out and his grips are well worth the wait!
