I  recently posted (Dec. 9) asking for info on these Dan Wesson 44 mag. 24kt. gold engraved 2nd amendment revolvers.  I appreciate all the feed back.  I have since got some pictures hoping it might help identifiy them.   I would like to know approx. age, value, and history.  If anyone has info, it would be much appreciated.

Beautiful set!

IIRC a set just like that sold on a Proxibid auction for a little under $2000.  They typically list for more on the other auction sights, though I don't know what they actually sell for.  Age is difficult to determine without access to manufacturing records.  The set is from Monson, so were produced before 1992.

Once again--I gotta find that ad 🙂  One thing I can tell you is that they only produced 750 of that model -- look at the end of your serial number to see what # yours is.  Are they consecutive?

I would think they were offered around the same time as the one in the link about 1987-1989.  Just a guess though.

They appear to have non-consecutive numbers…175 & 199, from what I can see. I would have assumed them to be consecutive, considering the case they're in.

All the paperwork we've seen so far, shows them as being made somewehere in the 1987 & later area. Here's a Constitution model here, for a price comparison…

…I haven't noticed them selling for much more than that guy's $1K BIN price, just from my semi-casual observation.Wink

Here's the sets that Wayne was talking about.

I just noticed you posted the American Rifleman (DEC 87) sale article on these lovely revolvers on the front page of the DWF Sign website.  Very interesting stuff.
