I have wanted a Dan Wesson for a while and I finally came across a good deal on one.  It is a .357 with a 4″ barrel, according to the box it is a model 15-2 with a bright blue finish made in Monson.  It is in 95%+ condition with the original box

The strange thing about it is the over travel screw is in the back of trigger instead of the frame.  When did they change the location of the over travel screw?

By the way I got if for $212 out the door which I thought was a very good price.

Welcome to the site. If you picked up a 95% Monson 15-2 for $212, as far as I'm concerned, you did great. Nice looking pistol, and enjoy shooting it.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

You got a great deal; the average for a NRA good 15-2 is $300+ and you have the light shroud, which was an option on the mod 15's and the Monson guns are the most collectable.  Did you get the barrel tool and gap gauge?  If not; they still come up on Ebay and can be found at CZ as well.

The tool, BC gap gauge and a yellow plastic ring that goes on the cylinder was in the box.  The instruction manual was missing but I found one on line.

I completely disassembled it last night and gave it a good cleaning.  It had a lot of brown looking grease in it.
