Did a few of these for the small frames, whatca' ya' all think? Other than I haven't gotten that new camera yet-hopefully you'll be able to make out what it looks like! Laugh

Techincally I'm not sure what to call these…title of this post is "comp" nuts, but prehaps "Extra long styled nuts" would be a better term. Wink

One thing, this is definitely the way to go if you have a tendency to overtighten things! Holes are 1/4". So you can use the handle on the wrenches I make to remove and install it which is of course preferable! Or any 1/4" rod.

OK, OK, I'm just kidding!!!

How about a silencer for a barrel nut???

But to answer your question, I like it, can they be made thicker with holes that might spray the burnt powder and excessive noise away from the shooter???

Awesome!

Now make one that looks like a Tromix door breeching Saiga 12ga brake!

pageophile, Great! They're priced at $26 including shipping. Operators are standing by to take your order. Laugh

Chargerfan, I didn't know what that was and had to look it up! You're right! Laugh

Mox, and Z, those are some interesting ideas there! On the silencer, that would be very cool, but then you have to deal with the gov't for it to be legal. Maybe in the future we could do something there. On other styles, that wouldn't be a problem at all, that's why I made 3 of these for the moment, to see how they go over or if there would be any interest in them, plus it didn't take that much time to do-need to keep the barrels and shrouds on the top of the list!

nice Eric if you try any in the .44 mag cal reserve one for me. maybe you could try them in a slotted style to match the super mags, might be able to match slottes up with barrel slottes by adjusting the barrel gap. liike I said tap and slott one for .44 mag and I 'll take one. Does your mind ever shut down. LOL!  Proud To Be An AmericanDayton

Man if those were for a large frame you'd be getting a paypal payment ASAP

Sadly I only own a 44 DW 🙁

Please say you'll make more in large frame 😀

That's not a bad idea.occasion Although, I think the adjustment would have to be in the form of thin shims between the shroud & the barrel nut/comp. Screwing the barrel in & out would still land the nut in the same spot, I would think.

Mox, those are some cool looking Browning pieces.Cool I especially like the fluted one on the bottom. I've long thought this type is a particularly cool looking & effective style...

That would look purty cool on a certain 7445 I know of...Drool

Eric,

Your ingenuity never ceases to amaze me.  Kudos!  I do have one question though.  Since you are containing the muzzle blast beyond the muzzle by using an extendied "compensator nut", have you considered what impact, if any, the hot gases will have at the threaded seam where the barrel and nut join?

Let me know how the extended nut/muzzle brake reduces muzzle flip when you have an opportunity to try it out at the range.

We can do large frame comps., no worries there. Smile

I like the slotted too, I think the next few are going to have some slots/holes!!!!

GG, Thanks! That's a good point there, I hadn't thought of that! Maybe adding some never-seez to the threads wouldn't be a bad idea. I think as many holes as this has on it should reduce that issue.

Eric put me down for one in .44 mag and if you have the threads for .375SM or the .357SM. Buy Nowslotted.

You got it! Now does the .375SM and the .357SM have different threads on the muzzle end? Ie it takes a different nut that a regular ol' .44 for example? Don't have a SM, maybe another excuse to get one to find out! DWAS
