I started with the "What model do I have" and have to say i am even more confused.  I was shopping my revolver around to see what I could get for it and I thought it was a 15-2VH.  I am the only owner, bought it new in the 1990s.  It is a Monson, Mass.... but it is stainless.  My confusion comes from I thought the stainless were only produced in the 2000s?  Serial ends in 1993.  I rarely shoot it and decided to give it a new home.  So what is it?  Thanks.  - Paul

Actually, my old memory is starting to come back.  I put adjustable fiber optic sights on it years ago.... I think, because it had fixed sights.  So that would make this a 714 or 714VH?

So, I knew I was a pack rat, but this is a bit much even for me.  I found the original receipt and owners manual.  Purchased in 1989.

Receipt shows Dan 715VH 6 S

I have a cash offer of 600.00.... is that a reasonable offer?

It is worth more than that, I would check past sales on Gun Broker, the last sale was 715.00.

If you have the original box and papers and tool it could be as high as $900 I would not sell it for $600 $750 low it looks like new condition! Yes it's a 715 has an adjustable sight on the rear of the gun. If you have the box, tool and papers don't go under $800 It could bring $900 or more on a gunbroker if you have all those things. Welcome to the forum. I just sold a Palmer 715 it was new in original box for $1050 I like Guns International better than GB. $18 per gun flat rate and no 1099 at end of year like GB!

$600 is a bit low for the online market.    Locally, the market may not be as strong.   I would certainly pay $600 for it.

Thanks for all the reply's!  I figured it may be worth more.  I do not have the original box but do have the barrel wrench and feeler that it came with.  Still contemplating the offer I have.  If I shot it more I would keep it, but there are other things on my wish list.  🙂

If you sell it you will regret it. The forum is filled with posts about folks who sold their Dan and later regreted it and are buying another for twice the money

I've been offered a pretty nice chunk of money for my 715. I got it, in the box, with the junk plastic tool, three grips, and internal parts for the whopping price of $269+20 ship and +20 Transfer in 2006. I keep turning it down, as it will cost much more to get another one, let alone one that looks this good:

Basically, nobody bid on it for some reason. It's got one slight scratch on the barrel shroud, and a little grip scuffing. My first and still best GB deal.

Keep it and start shooting it!  I sold my 15-2 years ago, and have just replaced it with both a 15-2 and 715.

Both cost a lot more than the original.  Hunt up a 4" barrel and you have the perfect revolver.

That was 17 years ago! I'm pretty sure all Dan Wessons were cheap back then. I wish I had bought several back in the early mid 2000's! My 30K collection would have been less than 10K i'm sure!

Even back then, $269 was really cheap for the gun alone, let alone with all the grips and parts, box, and receipt. My last DW, which isn't great looking, is a scratched up 15-2 4VH and it was like almost $500 a couple of years ago. Perfect mechanically, but looks like an old PD trade in on the right side, especially.
