This is my first model .22.  Heretofore I have collected only .357 mags.  It is a Palmer, 8 VH, excellent condition.  I have not gotten a chance to shoot it but the guy I got it from says it is a tack driver, FTF, no tax, no paperwork.  If it was a Monson, do you think the value would have been greater?  If so, how much in $$ or %.

No reason for identical model Monsons to be more valuable than Palmers, or vice versa.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Palmer had rumors of inferior QC on its guns. Unfounded as far as I can tell. One might argue that a Palmer gun is more rare due to the short time frame of Palmer production, so I would say equal money if equal shape. As usual, condition is the big factor in previously enjoyed firearms.

If the seller thinks that the Palmer gun has less value than a Monson, then by all means, agree with the man!lol2  I'm with these guys, I feel that the Palmer guns are equal.

Congrats on breaking your .357 monopoly!occasion dwas

Pinertor, I didn't buy it to make a profit so I'll just keep it.laughing  The Monson guns in the safe actually accepted it like it was a real gun.

That's a nice .22 DW. It would be a joy to shoot and the cheapest gun to shoot you will ever have. It will bring you a lot of joy in the future. Go for it.

Congrats on the acquisition.  It sure is nice looking.  I think value is determined more by condition than where it was made and that one looks nice.  If you got a better price because of the Palmer origin, good for you.
