Have any of you seen a DW revolver with low profile sights?  My wife and I found one in a local pawn shop.  I have never seen a DW revolver with low profile sights before so I am a little skeptical; however, it looks pretty legitimate.

It's a Monson, 15-2, 4' bbl, and asking price is 500.  Does anyone have any opinions/experience with these low profile revolver sights?  Any opinions as far as value vs asking price?

Hmmm front sight? or everything?

DW made service revolvers, they do not have the target rear sights.

As for front sights, there is a "partridge" sight which is just a plain sloped sight with no color insert.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

IMHO that asking price is far to high. Also it is likely to be a 14-2 if it has fixed iron sights. I bought my Monson 15-2 in good condition (albeit a little barneyed) w/ 2 barrels for 425. I have also seen them go for about 350 w/ a single barrel (usually 4 or 6) on GB, which seems to be the norm.

The one Jake posted is a REAL nice looking revolver, and maybe the only other one I've seen with the same grip as my original 15-2. I might just have to keep an eye on that one, this one might need a friend:

You know, that blued one is a fairly close s/n to this one too. I feel something very bad starting to happen, I may be getting ready to do something stupid.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

You know Steve, when the ole DWAS flairs up, and one is about to take a treatment ( buy one) a lot of things come to mind, but being stupid isn't one of them. Wink

Yes, jakeemt, it looks very similar to the one that you indicated was posted on GB.  The sights are identical.

I agree that the price is too high; that's why I didn't buy it.  I wanted to research it first, as always, and was skeptical about the sights since that's the first low-profile Dan I've seen or heard of.

I have two 15-2 Monson DWs already, and I paid a little under 400 for each.  Laugh  One is about 98%, the other is about 90%.  No boxes, wrench, or barrel packs, but they were in excellent condition so I had to snatch them up.

Can't seem to get a good photo of either of them, so this one will have to suffice:

I know I might as well have given you a hand drawing of it for all it shows, but that's the best I can get!

Got it for $249.99 plus 29.99 shipping/ins. I was the only bid. I'm pretty excited, can't wait to get it, I think it's in REAL nice shape according to what the pics look and I talked to the seller before I bid and it sounds good. It's no Supermag or anything, but I'm still excitedDWAS
