That Pack might have gone out the door of the factory with that mismatched shroud. I can see someone dropping the wrong shroud into the case, and thinking "who will ever notice". Now it's 35 years later, and we're scratching our heads trying to figure this out.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think this one had to come from the factory this way. I just don't see someone coming across a heavy 2.5" shroud with the pinned front sight...

Thats what I think happened too, because all of the barrels and shrouds look as if they just came from the factory the sheen of the oil on the barrels and shrouds it's obvious it's never been fired, plus all the sights are the same , someone didn't piece this one together.
