Hi.

I have a problem with the triggerpull. I recently bought a mod 744 (i think) with 6 inch vented and a 4 inch VH barrel, serial nr SB007191. Anyone know wich year it is made? In Norway the triggerpull should be 1360 grams (about 3 pounds) in competitions, but mine is around 900 grams (2 pounds). Is there any way to adjust this, or should i get a new spring? (wich spring) Not very easy to buy parts to DW's in Norway, because you can't get gunparts out of USA!!!?

Is this light trigger pull in single action or double action?

Just went up to the man cave to measure my 744 trigger pull; SA #4.4/ DA #8.11.  Although I'm not the original owner, I believe the internals are all original.

I'd suggest you start with adjusting the tightness on your grip screw.  The #4.4 reading above comes at the point when my grip is just tight to the frame. I can tighten my screw up and get as low as #2.10 SA and loosen it to get #4.10 (rubber grips).  With wood grips, try using a/ a few thin washers to see if that doesn't increase the trigger pull.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

It doesnt seem to be any difference when tighten or loosen the grip screw. I need to borrow the triggerpull gauge to be sure, i will check it tuesday, thanks 👍
