Another Dan Wesson revolver I got from my dad when he passed. Very well loved by him, carried daily for many many years. Ashamed to say Iâve let it get a bit rusty just sitting in the closet in this Virginia humidity for the last 6-7 years since he passed. Will be getting a good cleaning and oiling this weekend!

I recommend Flitz metal polish to remove the surface rust.

Thanks Stinger!
Is that something you would use down the barrel and inside the cylinder also, or just on the outside?
And would you follow it up with oil? Looks great like it maybe leaves a coating of its own

I've only used it on the outside of blued finished guns and it does leave a film, but oil followup wouldn't hurt.
I'd imagine you could use it in the barrel and cylinder bore, but it is slightly abrasive, so go easy.
