With a good holster, and especially a good belt, you might see less of a weight factor than you would think. Too many people overlook using wide enough, well constructed belt (I wear deSantis belts) to go with their holster. You can't just thread your holster onto a WalMart belt and get good results. You might consider the difference in bulk going from 5 shot lightweight to 6 shot full size, and you're going to want a slimmer, smaller grip.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Hey Steve,
Thanks for the quick reply. Actually I don't think the DW is all that heavy, and I do have a set of thin Pachmayr grips. I shot it with mags., w. 2.5 b., and it's very manageable. I can't really say the same for the 442 with + P's. The cylinder is smaller than my 586 Smith, so it doesn't really stick out on the side a whole lot, especially since it's a 357 mag. Do you wear yours inside, or outside the belt/pants etc.?
My only complaint with the DW is I just noticed the rear sights are loose, I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks for the info!

My 14-2 w/2.5" barrel weighs 2lb 2.5oz loaded.
It carries quite well in my modified Simply Rugged Sourdough. (I modified mine with some metal belt clips, but you can order them from Simply Rugged with additional IWB loops).

Frank- When I carry, it's not a revolver. I do like working on shooting from a holster at the range, and I use an OWB holster, I think it's a deSantis Speed Scabbard.
I'm actually thinking of getting an IWB holster for revolver carry.

It looks like your DW is right where it's supposed to be, very close to the body. Looks great! I think that if you ever have to pull it, the heft and grip of a full size revolver would be more apt to place the round where you want it. I do ok with the 442, but a lot better with Dr. Dan. Thanks very much for the weight, link, and photo zundfolge!
