Looking at some aftermarket Grips for my 15-2 in 357.. Anybody like Hoagues or are there any others out there?
Maybe a few pics would help if anyone uses any aftermarkets ones.
Also if anyone uses the type with the finger grooves. Do you like them in that style? Thanks

The best you can get (for Dan Wesson) are LB Customs (right sidebar on the Forum). It is not really a "business" for him, more passion for top quality. Lots of options for style, specialty wood, and unique customs.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I find that I like the finger grooves on my grips when shooting revolvers. I really like them when the barrels is very heavy like the 8” HV and the revolver is out of balance. Not so much on the DW combat grips. I like the base of the grip to come back a bit further in my palm so there is better support.

BTW, if the original question was more directed toward a "maximum control" grip for a 15-2 in all conditions, the Pachmayr Gripper is just about the best you will find. No longer in production, available used in the aftermarket, and fairly pricey. But worth it!

Thanks all. That is what I am using them on. A VH 8 inch barrel.
Found the link to LB. Funny I am half blind, and have the page blown up so big to read anything, it hides the bar off to the right.
Does LB stock these grips, or are they made to order..Thanks

Generally made to order, there are possibly some available in stock ready to go.
To be clear, it's not a big business. It is really a hobby/passion that has developed into something more, we all get a great benefit by having access to beautiful grips for what is really a "niche" market.

All good advice! Pachmayr Grippers DW-G are also one of my favorites, LB custom grips are made to fit YOUR hand and are outstanding in quality, Hogue grips with many exotic wood varieties and options including finger grooves, checkering, etc. can either dress up your DW or contribute to your shooting stability. Lots of choices determined only by your investment in either time or money when you have DWAS.

I have the wood Hoagues & I absolutely love them on my 6" 15-2 Vent Heavy. I like the palm-swell in the rear & the finger grooves help make sure I have the same grip position every time.
I got it originally with the tiger striped "Target" grip, but I always found that a bit big for the little finger, the Hoague is considerably smaller in the same area giving a totally different "feel".
Nothing against LB, its just that these "fit" me.

The only negative thing about them (& its really minor) is the length. They are longer top to bottom, so they come with their own screw. Its a slot head, not a hex, so you now need a flat blade screwdriver too. I think you're right & they aren't made any more but a search of the web will turn some up in one wood or another. Those shown are "Pau Ferro".

Sometimes Eagle Grips show up on ebay. They are very nice. Finger groove and big. I have a couple including a solid rosewood NIB. I haven't figured out what gun to put it on.

Very nice! I'm not sure how well the added layers would work for my purposes though. I do a fair amount of "Off the beaten trail" packing & camping so I used the extra wood to mount a discreet sling swivel screw to attach a lanyard for arms retention in the event of a nasty tumble. When I don't need it I just undo the sling swivel & lanyard cord & all that's left is the tiny stud out of the way. I'd hate to trust that to laminating glue!
Yes I know, kind of old fashioned but that one time I slip down a steep bank into fast running water I'll be so darn glad I did.
(It does have a weak link & a QD so I can remove it easily if the pistol were to become say wedged under a rock, trapping me.)

I bought these Mister. Well, mine say they are Goncola, whatever that means? Same style and made by Hoage though. I think I will like them. I hope.
Had to pay 94.00 shipped. Kinda steep for me, so hope they fit me well. Thanks and I will post a pic next week when they arrive.

Different wood with more striking grain pattern. Other wise probably the same. You did get them for the small (square tang) model yes?

I like those in this order, left first, middle second, and right last. All look good, but the right one is a little light colored for my liking.
I just do not like the weird, somewhat odd shaped, original ones it has now, they just feel very large and awkward in my hands. Thanks for the pics..
