Would anybody know the date of manufacture of my 15-2 with serial number 165664? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, we don't have hard manufacture date data as of yet. However, based on the limited info that we do have, I would estimate it as having been made somewhere toward early ~ mid 1978.

Thanks greatly Supermag. This was a basket case revolver I've been working on since NOV '08. The original owner bought two DWA's and could not remember the date of purchase of this one, the 8-HV. The cylinder stop is broke off. I'm thinking this confirms the abuse I've seen so far. That said, the former owner thought the cylinder stop was a seperate piece only the original 15-2 had and not part of the side plate. I don't remember that from back in the day. I'm determind to make this baby shoot like new and win a class at the local IHMSA shoots!

That guy is correct, the cylinder stop is made as a separate piece & is still available from DW/CZ. There's a few members here who have had the same issue, and their stories have ended happily.
