I just put it on the vise and got this off. Now I have a normal tang. Can't thank you guys enough. I would never would have figured this out.

Anytime you put pachmayr's or hogues on a DW, you better well put a coating of Vaseline on the tang first.... experience has taught me well with the amount of used DW's I've bought with rubber grips on them !!!

I'm glad you were able to get it off, now you're free to try out any grip style you'd like.
