Welcome and know you have some to right place for answers!  Take your screw you have now and head to the hardware store with it in hand.  Know that the hex head cant be matched though you can pick up a few longer screws cheep.  Or contact CZ and order one!  Pick up a couple washers while at the hard ware store. this will portect the wood or rubber of your grip!

Let's see some picsof this Dan of yours!

There are two different common screw lengths with DW grips. Easy to get them mixed up.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If you are trying to install a rubber grip--sometimes the holes are not molded perfectly.  Slide the grip on about 3/4 of the way and get the threads started, then push the grip fully on.

I found screws identical to the factory hex screw, in SS at a local hardware store. They were even the right length.

Some times the grip hole wasn't drilled straight causing problems (or maybe the wood warped after being drilled).  My DW22 came that way.  I couldn't get the screw to start without it seeming like a cross thread.  I sent it back to DW and they got the grip back on, but when I tried it I had the same problem.  I replaced the factory grip with a Sacramento style and never had another problem.

I'm glad you got yours fixed with a new screw.
