Has anyone ever come across this problem, particularly with fitting a barrel to a stainless frame? I don't know if DW ever used s/s barrels but I did notice that a silver hued barrel  I was attempting to screw onto my 714 seemed a little stiffer than a blued (presumable conventional carbon steel) barrel.  It may be residue or some other thing that is causing my silver colored barrel to stiffen up/hard to turn, but the carbon steel barrels seem to interface well with the s/s frams. Thanks.

You probably have an oversized barrel or carbon built up on the frame or barrel. Monson/palmer barrels that are on SS guns are actually carbon left in the white, unknown if norwich are actual SS (never cared enough to check). BTW galling happens when parts are rubbed/slid together and has almost completely been eliminated on modern SS guns.

Following on superdan's post, the barrel threads on both ends, as well as the frame and barrel nut threads are vastly overlooked as a preventative maintenance point on DW's. Because they are removable and interchangeable there is a need for cleaning and maintenance in those areas that no other revolver has. Clean and scrub those areas, chase the threads, lightly lubricate as needed.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
