OfflineI finally found and purchased a .357 pistol pack (Palmer) that I hope is in nice condition when it arrives, I know foundry marks can be a problem. The shroud with the Optic mounted does not include a barrel. I am waiting for the extra barrel Authorisations from the Prefecture, so it will be a while before I get the set.
I also purchased a .357maximum SuperMag in stainless, I already have a Blued one, but I do like stainless. My Dad always used to ask me 'Why do you always have two of everything' I don't know why.
I purchased a few months ago a .22 Pistol pack, so I have put a photo of that too.
Looking on the French site, amazingly there were 6 DWs for sale, very unusual, it seems that three of them are listed by a Retiring Armourer, two 44s and a .357 all with extra barrels. Shame![]()

, the .357 particularly looks neglected but it has a lot of foundry marks on the shrouds.
I am going to try and put the photos up, I am not too good with this interweb stuff so they may end up on another topic.

OfflineWhat are foundry marks? Poor finishing or marks from investment casting? Or what some people call handling marks? Dings and nicks from rought use. Small frame Dan's are prone to getting scratches on the sideplate from the cylinder closing while extracting cases. Dan's have no latch on the sideplate like a Smith or Colt that blocks the extractor star from touching the sideplate. Keep the gun tilted to the left and keep two fingers pushing against the cylinder to keep it open .

OnlineThat Palmer PAC is rare. The case is a Travelmaster which Palmer switched to when Eric Wesson and family bought back the company and moved it to Palmer, Mass. You just do not see many Palmer 15-2 or 715 pacs they were having problems selling guns during those years (1991 -1996) I guess people had switched to semi autos and revolvers fell out of favor. ![]()
