Just curious...how do you store additional barrels and shrouds?

I'm looking for something cloth that I can put it in to keep in the gun rug with my gun.

In Texas (hi-humidity areas), you may want to oil it liberally, then store it inside a Ziploc bag, with a bag of desicant.

As always, wait for further opinions on the matter.Wink

Actually most of the year I am in Lubbock (low humidity).  I have already planned to keep them oiled up because  I don't want another stuck barrel nut after that last incident.

Thanks for the advice.

I use a "rather cheap" machinist chest that can be bought for $80 from Harbor Frieght.  I really like it. 6 small drawers and 2 large drawers, plus the top storage area. Nice green felt on the inside, all wood on the outside. However, I do not own a gun safe, and that would be nicer.

A "real" machinist style chest made as a gun box, can be bought as well, but it runs upward of a grand. Much better wood and construction.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

Hey Pinetor, wheres that video you made I can't find it, didn't it show that chest ?

I thought that was a pretty cool chest, not cheap at all.

I use ammo cans, they seal well and are water proof Plus easy to stack and carry when need be.

I store my "Collector grade" barrels in the snap close necklace jewelery boxes.  They fit like a glove.

All my standard BA's get oiled and stored in the typical plastic Plano pistol cases.

Bore Stores makes protective storage clothes impregnated with silicone for the Contender barrels in 10" that work for the longer barrels I have.

I just use a Chamois that has been oiled up. I roll/fold/roll the entire barrel assembly up inside the leather so there is a good 3/8 of an inch padding around the BA and put it in a carry bag.  This way all my BAs are in one carry bag in case I need to evacuate quickly (evacuate because of fire - I don't have to bug out in case of trouble, I am one of those people who have to have to bug-in rofl).
