Found an image of a DW target sight.
All black with square rear tapering to the muzzle.
Are these sights available anywhere?

That sounds exactly like the front sight from my DW PM1S (1911). These were maunfactured to accept interchangeable DW front sights, a practice not continued on later DW 1911's. I find that I have to loctite the screw that holds the sight in or it loosens up after about 30 rounds.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
