Might be better than stock DW wrench but not better than EWK wrench.

I'd be very careful with a wrench like that. just like the early wrenches that had a "barrel spud" and an offset handle, it will be more difficult to maintain direct downward pressure on the barrel nut. That original DW design resulted in rounded out barrel nuts that were very tough to remove. Also, the offset handle allowed the leverage to easily overtighten the nut.

Save yourself a lot of pain, just use the EWK wrench.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

NOT an EWK laugh ..... I recently got this one with a DW I purchased.  This one just sits on the bench to remind me to use an EWK wrench.

I find it fascinating to see what people come up with to serve a specific purpose.  I guess any of them would still be better than a pair of needle nose pliars.  LOL

Actually the needlenose pliers are too brittle, ground down needle nose vice grips are softer metal, at least the Chinese ones are.  Please don't ask me how I know, that was years ago, only the real tools touch my model 40.broken-computer

Dan Wesson Small Frame Hex Drive Wrench

I would use this from EWK with a wrench if I ever needed extra leverage.

That thing is a joke.  Look at your DW's, The muzzle is almost always very close to flush with the barrel nut.  That's why DW and EWK barrel wrenches have pins that fit into the slots in the barrel nuts.

With that wrench the odds are high that you would eventually ruin a barrel nut. Also it would be difficult to use because you'd have to keep it perfectly aligned where the EWK  and DW tool eliminate the alignment issue.

Looks like there is a large profit margin with the Heffron wrench if that's what you want to call it.  Looks more like a piece of flat iron with a 90 in the brake...

It could be used as a back scratcher when not tearing up your Dan!

The guy that introduced me to DW had a homemade wrench for his guns.  He took a brass t shaped pipe fitting and ground down the center leg till he had two nubs to mate with the grooves in the barrel nut.  It worked, but not very well.

Probably because brass is too soft.  Could be pretty, though.

Stick with the EKW wrench, you can't go wrong, well made products.
