OfflineHi guys,
New to this forum, but long time DW owner. I've had a DW 15-2 for about 15 years or so, but a couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to buy a DW 22. originally I thought i was just the gun with the mounted 6" vented barrel, but when i started the paperwork, the lady behind the counter brought a suitcase with goodies.
IN the suitcase there were an additional 6" barrel with a Bushnell Phantom II scope, a 4" V barrel which appears unused, the target grips, the spanner wrench, feeler gauge and assorted allen keys, and an 8" VH shroud with a mounted Burris scope, without a barrel in it. The weird part is this shroud is marked .357 Mag., so it doesn't actually belong to this gun, but everything was included in the price.
So I was able to secure a 8" .357 barrel from EWK which I should get next week. That will go with my DW 15-2. But now I'm on the hunt for a 2.5" barrel, and a pistol pac case. The case I got is a Dosckocil black case with double handles and wraparound aluminum frame, similar to the older black cases DW used to use in the early 70's, but there are no DW markings anywhere. The foam is gray eggshell type both top and bottom, but it fits the gun.
So is anyone interested in sap for the 6" scoped barrel? Looking for either 2.5" or an 8". Also does anyone know whether or not DW actually used Doskcil cases.
Here's a photo of the DW 22 package:

From what I've seen so far, no Doskcil cases were used at DW.
Starting in post #16 > HERE < Those are all the case style photos I've been able to collect so far, that I'm pretty much 100% certain were used by DW.
BTW, congrats on landing your Model 22 & all the cool extras, that's a hell of an introductory post!

Fabulous bargain . Now, flesh out the disparate parts and create several real packs. It will take a couple more fortuitous purchases but you have a good start. It is called DWAS, or Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome.Welcome to the Forum.
Thank you everyone, glad to be here.
BTW, can anyone tell me based on this serial number when this gun came into this world?

OfflineThanks for the input on the manufacture year.
Anyway, I've been looking for an original case, but for the moment nothing came up (at least not anything that I can afford), so until I come across a deal, I decided that the Doskocil case it came in is good enough for now, in fact it's good enough to hold both DWs and a couple of accessories. I added some gold satin fabric over the foam (no glue, just folded and tucked under), and I think it looks pretty nice if I may say so myself.

OfflineVERY NICE setup!
I was going to suggest EWK for the 8" 357 barrel, but you're way ahead of me. I bought one of his 4" 44 barrels some time back and was really impressed with the quality.
I'm not sure which gun you are looking for the 2.5" BA for. I looked on CZ's site, and they list 22LR 2.5" for $190. I didn't check for 357. You'd have to check posts about getting "THE PERSON" to contact for DW parts from them...IF they actually have what is posted.
Good luck!
Very sweet. You can use the scoped shrouds for either frame. I would move the 8" scope back a little. I don't like to have the muzzle o close to the end of the scope. Is that stained zebra or has the wood sarkened with age? It is very unique.
If you want something a little more upscale ,an aluminum Halliburton case is bigger. Look for cases on eBay . Or make two cases . Original cases come with two wood grips, 4 extra front sights of white and yellow and the age appropriate barrel tool . Your tool is my favorite style. Avoid the plastic tool as they eventually break.
