Hi,  guys and dolls

quick question> I'm new to the DW firearms family  and feel that single action

on the 357 and 44mag is  a harder trigger pull that the double action . is this

normal on DW modelsWife

I think you have that backwards ...Wink....  Single action pull (you pull the hammer back first) is much lighter than double action (trigger cocks the hammer back).

On my other model revolvers this is true S&W, Taurus, etc. But the three DW's

that I just purchased, all from different sellers, it is harder to pull the trigger back to shoot single action than it is to pull the trigger to shoot double action.

At lease that's the way it feels to me.

I thought maybe some DW where Double action preferred.

thanksBroken Computer

If that is the case, you have something seriously wrong.... DW's are known for their single action pull.  Double action leaves a little to be desired.

If you have't given them a thorough cleaning yet, you might want to start there.

Any pics?

With my guns, once the hammer is pulled back & cocked, the trigger pull is pretty darn easy from there. Maybe your DW's just have some dirty buildup inside & need a good cleaning.

Open the cylinder out and try cocking the trigger, if this makes it better then you need

to clean the face of the cylinder or reset the barrel to cylinder gap.

WifeThanks guys

I'll try that. maybe after a good cleaning I hope they will work normally.

As far as Post Pics go,I'm still  struggling

with that (although I've haven't put in enough time ) I'm not that cumputer savvy and still do not know how to paste and copy. I will keep at it and promise to post some

pics

thanks again for the feedback

In that case, while you have the cylinder open, spin it with your finger & make sure is spins freely. If there's enough gunk built up between the crane & cylinder on any revolver, that will create a drag right there.

The cylinder should "zing" when opened...at least 6 revolutions with no problem, with the flick of a finger.

Depends on which one is the problem child...one is relatively easy to take apart (the .357) & the other is more involved (the .44).

Here's a good thread on taking your .357 apart...

https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=3/reloading/tuning-up-your-15-2-the-average-joe-method/

And here's one for a .44 (large frame)...

Hope these help...Smile
