CryThis may create some discussion because  each of us has their own likes and wants. What kind of list would each of us come up with if we listed the top three Dan Wesson configureations.1. frame, 2.finish,3.barrel,4.caliber. The only thing we have to stick to is was or is it factory issue. I was going to start this off but I'm havine trouble cutting back to three. O" what the heck. 1, dan wesson blue 375 SM V8"s, 2.dan wesson blue 45LC VH6", 3. dan wesson 22 SS VH10' single action sillioutte edition.

OK, I'm in on this:

1) Model 15 with a 6" standard barrel. The most basic DW you can find, and the blue, .357, 6" is what put Dan Wesson on the map.

2) 744 4"VH- standard caliber-handheld thunder and lightning

3) 722 6"VH

BTW-If I still reloaded my own ammunition this question would have been WAY harder for me.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Interesting question.

The "holy grail" brings to mind the 4 Super Mags with 8" shrouds.

I also have visions of a Model 15 with deep blued barrels from 2" to 15".

1. 745 with 6" slotted shroud, 2. 445 blued with 10" slotted shroud. 3. 357max with all barrels and all slotted shrouds.

As Tigger mentioned:

The 4-Supermags, with slotted shrouds, preferably unfluted cylinders in stainless finish.  The .375 In deep blue.

Just three, You must be Kidding!!!!  Oh well I will play along but it's going to be tough.   Model 15-2 VH6, Model 40 VS8, Model 7445 VH8.  Whew!!! I sure am glad we are only kidding around!

This is a hard one but here goes:

  • 745-VH4 Monson
  • 740-VH8S Monson
  • 7360 Norwich
In reality I would like to have one of each caliber made! Cool

I have to agree...the 4 Supermags, all Silhouette versions with 8" barrels and the slotted shrouds. Despite having this collection of 4, and several others, there's at least 7 more Dan Wessons that I want to add.

1) I'd like to find an unfired Model 11 or 12...the one that started it all.

2) I already have my Model 15 Pac, that has been on my "grail" list forever.

3) This .500 Supermag Pac... https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=3/off-topic/new-dw-revolvers-are-coming LaughLOL!

Although, like others here, I want one (or more) of everything!Cool

  • 15-2V6 Deep Blue, red blade, Light Zebra Target Grip (I think that is the Holy Grail all by it's little ol' self)
  • 40V10S
  • AGS (one a' these days...)

For me it would have to be the 3 guns I need to complete my collection:

1. 741

2. 7414

3. AGS

LOL!!

Yes, they sold both, although I don't know if they sold both together, ie one gun Engraved and plated.

-->Which reminds me - Steve's note from a different post DEFINATELY hits my Holy Grail list:

  • NICKEL PLATED 15-2V6  owwww!

This thread is too cool! Many thanks to pops2 for kicking this off, and what other brand can boast of this diversity? I really gotta start reloading again so that I can start supporting (feeding?) a SuperMag, I feel kind of left out.

Tread lightly Steve, Reloading can also be addictive. But since everyone has at least one habbit. These are are good ones to have.  LOL

OK, I just thought of "one" that would be the holy grail of Dan Wessons...

The prototype revolver in 7-30 Waters. It was written up in a Shooting Times article. Man, did I ever want one of those!
