Hello All,

This my first Dan Wesson and I need help on where to find things I will need to work on this firearm since all I bought was the gun. Please help point me in the right direction as far as tools, sights, grips etc. Thanks in advance. Boats

Dude, that is gorgeous !!! drool

That is a Large Frame revolver, so go to the Gunsmithing section, where there are some tutorials to help you become familiar with it.

The first things you will need is a barrel nut tool and gap tool, that is required to disassemble and reassemble the shroud and barrel tube. The sights are just fine for now and so is the grip, unless it is uncomfortable or unwieldy.

A 44 mag barrel tool will work fine on a 45.  A 45 tool is made of unobtainium. You can set the gap to  .002. Always take your barrel tool with you when you go shooting.

Thanks for the information. I found a 45 colt tool on a website but he wanted 130 dollars for it.

Absolutely beautiful revolver. I am looking for one as well. Can you tell me what you had to pay. So I can get an idea of how much I am looking at paying.

EWK has the large frame barrel tool listed for $28 but currently OOS. They also sell a larger pilot for 45 cal. You might want to contact them about when they'll be available again. Beautiful 45 you bought!

Thanks. I made contact with Dan Wesson and bought a barrel tool from them. I think it cost 43 plus 12 shipping.
