The Cylinder Stop is popping out every-time I shoot magnums..how are those cylinder stops secured into the side plate? Does this indicate that I might have a cracked side plate? If that's the case, where can I find a blued 15-2 side plate, does anyone here have one for sale?

Early models had a side plate with a small stool that was basically pressed onto the side plate.  They tended to work loose over time.  Red lockette will hold it in p I'll ace.  They are available if you lose one.  Later guns and all 715s had an improved one piece side plate.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Take the plate off and use some red Loctite.  They were press fit initially and later became an integral part of the casting.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I have just my Samsung phone but it does appear that you may have a crack in the sideplate. If so, taking it off could make it crack all the way through. Putting it back on could be even more dangerous. If it holds together in one piece do not push on it where the stop is. That is inherently a very weak spot. That looks like a replacement stop that DW sells. The original probably fell out and was lost. Although it is a design flaw, I believe that pounding on the extractor to remove stuck cases is what makes the stop break off in the first place. I try to remember to take a pencil to the range to use on stuck cases. Also hold the cylinder to prevent it from banging against the stop when removing stuck cases.

Now the bad news. DW has no more blue sideplates. Not only that, sideplates are fitted to the frame before polishing. I have had horrible luck making a replacement sideplate look right. If anyone has the secret please share it. I have broken sideplates trying to force it in. I have also filed them until they look awful. They not only have to fit but the screws line up. Even if you are successful, the sideplate may be thicker than the frame because the original was polished with the frame.

If you do take the sideplate off, you may want to try to somehow reinforce it in the area of the crack. Maybe a  . 002 spacer loctited to the crack on the inside. Make sure it does not interfere with the operation of the lockwork or replacing the sideplate.

Lastly  I have several extra sideplates but they have the ever present extractor star scratches. The also may or may not fit

Actually the picture I posted earlier is not of my side plate, I only put it there for reference, below is the real picture of my side plate. and it does not look like is cracked at least seen from outside, but inside might be another story. I will have to take it off and look....

Whichever fix you go with be sure to not push the stop too far in when fixing it. The INSIDE end must be no more than flush with the inside face of the plate. Otherwise it can drag on the firing mechanism as the inside of the plate is not a single, flat surface.

(don't ask how I know this little detail)!

Great advice thanks.

Same thing happened to me a while back.  My cylinder stop fell out at the range.  I didn't know it fell out until I tried to reload, and the cylinder slipped off the spindle and came off in my hand.  I put the stop back in and then tapped it tight with a plastic mallet and haven't had a problem with it since.

If it keeps popping out, try using Loctite as suggested above or try a new cylinder stop.  Maybe yours comes loose bc it's undersized.  I bought a spare cylinder stop from EWK just in case mine ever falls out again and gets lost.  The fact that EWK sells them means this is a known issue.

Just my opinion, but the press-fit cylinder stop is a terrible design.  Parts shouldn't fall off one's gun whilst shooting it!  And you shouldn't need Loctite to keep stuff from falling off.

I ordered 4 cylinders tops directly from DW a few years ago, I wanted a few to try seeing as how it is a press fit, I wanted to get one that was a proper size.  Sure enough, one of them easily slid through, so there are small variances in each one.  Anyways, the tech at DW told me to add a drop of super glue on the inside of the plate after I pressed it in - so that is what I did.
