Thanks for the link.  I looked but did not find it.

I like the idea of rings that clamp to the rib.

But, as much as I hate the idea of drill and tap, that looks like the best option.

Are the Leupold mounts still made ?

The Leupolds are not still made, and are pretty rare. The Burris is the best clamp-on I've used, the b-square is heavier and clunkier (also owned one).

I can tell you that EWK Arms has a mount that clamps onto the top strap above the cylinder similar to the Beuhler mount in development, and it will be a great option for smaller scopes and red-dot type sights, should be available soon.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks.  We have a new gun shop and shooting range that I pass on the way to work.  Think I will talk with them.

Still figuring out how to post pics.  From all that I have read I have a 715VH6

Says Monson Mass on it a serial number is S/0015XX.  Front sight has the red insert, rear sight was loose so I replaced it with a Bowen Classic arms rear sight that fits good (built for the Ruger BH).

I purchased my first DW back in 1984, blued, 6" and I let it get away.  Friend had the stainless, bought it several yrs back, but usually shoots his S&W.  Said he had ran no more than 2 boxes of shells thru it if that, cleaned it and put it up.  Talked him into a good deal for both of us.

I really like the Burris clamp on mount. They are pricy though, last one I saw come up for sale went for near $100.
