I just bought a m15-2 pp and the 8 inch barrel is super fouled. Instead of scrubbing at it for a few hours I thought I would let it soak for a day in a bath of penetrent. I went to the local home depot and picked up a piece of half inch PVC pipe and two end caps. I cut it .25 longer than the barrel and then glued one cap on the bottom. The top cap slides on nice and tight and should keep any liquid from evaporating. DW barrels fit perfect and a 2 foot piece is enough for several barrel lengths. The fouling appears to be a mix of led and copper. Any ideas on what sort of penetrent or solvent I should use? I'm going to start with a mix of 50/50 ATF and acetone.
