Hey Ed, That's the plan to cover any caliber and material one would desire! While I don't have any supermags to check, I don't think the shrouds/barrels would be much different on the supermags than on the regular large frames...like my .44 mag...if they are different...

Good deal! Here's one of the pictures a guy sent me of a picatinny rail he fitted on a DW shroud…little preview of what its going to look like…just imagine it all as one piece. Laugh

Sure thing, the only thing is I don't know much about lasers...find one that will fit there in the heavy underlug area and we can definately machine it to fit the laser! Smile

Let me throw this out there, and this is just an idea. To keep with the Dan Wesson

theme of things by being interchangeable and universal. How about regular production

heavy lug and vented shouds being drilled and tapped to accept  add on

picatinny rails for the top rib and the bottom of lug. Using standard size picatinny rails

would allow the use of off the shelf accessories such as, scopes, red dots, laser's

and lights. Owner would have ability to change as needed or remove for compactness

(is that a wordlol2)  Those little filler screws could be installed when the picatinny rails are

not in use. Also in a situation where a future owner may or may not like the picatinny rails

they could easily be removed. Don't know if this idea would hurt or help production,

 just an idea.

I want, I want, I want! Can you be any higher maintainence?

Will that be blued, stainless, or oh, maybe glass filled carbon fiber?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well.. I just got a barrel wrench from Eric.

If the quality of these shrouds and barrels is as good as the wrench then they are gonna be better than the originals.   If service and honesty are important..  this is gonna be gold.

That's great CF! They just have the "standard" matte finish on them...some people like REALLY shiny things. Wink

Eric,

I was thinking about the barrels and shrouds that you are working on and wanted to let you know that I would be happy to do quality control and performance testing to take some of the burden off of you!  I know it would place a huge burden on me but I would be glad to take that one for the benefit of the members here on the DWF. Big Grin

Those are some nice looking wrenches!

Jody, you are Soooooooooo thoughtful to take on the arduous chore of testing for Eric. I don't know how you find the time, but hats off to you..     Worship

LOL.. pretty sure that no one here could be as picky as Eric is himself.   On the service end..  He was busy and I sent him a check.   He couldn't possibly have had the check clear before he sent me a wrench.   He emailed me promptly whenever I asked him anything..

I couldn't care less about 'rails' for boyonets or some kind of flood light or lazer guided missles but...   It would seem fine to have the vents or lugs drilled and tapped so that anyone who wanted such things could have em.

I would like shrouds and barrels in different lug configurations and lengths that don't exist like a 5 1/2" 44 say.   Maybe a lug style like the Smith and Wesson custom shop makes that is heavy but tapered back from the almost nothing at the muzzle to full thickness where the ejector rod ends kinda deal?

Different people like different things.

As for me, all I want is a number of shrouds in the VH format and maybe a couple of them slotted, with the following engraved on the right side of the underlug: Dan Wesson Arms.  With the appropriate cartridge designation underneath.  I don't need any blue ones, just stainless.
