I recently picked up a Model 15 .357 mag with a scope mount and rings with no scope, well I thought I'd just take the mount with the rings off but the barrel has no front sight, I mean no sight not that it was taken off, this barrel shroud was made without a front sight.
Anyone seen one like this?

Congratulations on your recent acquisition. A picture may help the Forum members assist you in identifying your barrel shroud.

What you have there is a (in my opinion) is a Hunters Pac shroud. These shrouds were made in the late 80's at the Monson facility. They came with the scope mount and had no slot up front for a sight.
If you are not happy with it I might be interested in buying it.

I believe Jody hit the nail right on the head--sounds like a hunter shroud, which would make it an 8". If Jody passes, I'm next in line

Thanks for the info guys and yes it's a 8" barrel with a Burris mount and rings in excellent condition. I had never seen a barrel like this with no front sight.
