Hello , I have a chance to buy a Dan Wesson I think it is a 722Vh with a 10'' barrel, It's 22LR in stainless, It has a few small scratches but otherwise it is very clean. They are asking 399 $ . This is for just the gun, Is this a fair price ?

I just found this forum, WoW allot of good info here.

Thanks in advance for your help

Probably pretty good, especially with a 10" barrel, which is a pretty uncommon item.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I've seen the blued 22's go for around $230 and up with 6" or 8" barrel.  Stainless usually are $50 to $100 more and as said above the 10" barrel is an additional $30 to $50.  If it's in good condition it's a bargain.

I would say for a person looking for a very good target gun or hunting gun it is a good price. My guess is the gun this spring would bring $600 +/- $50 because the 722 is hard to find and seldom come up for auction.

At the present on the DW side of CZ website they have 6" SS barrels for $15 then call DW direct (they have different numbers and DW is in NY and CZ in KC MO) then order just a 6" shroud for about $50 and then you have a 2 barrel set for a very good price and if you have no desire for the 10" barrel you could sell it on the net for about $150 to $250 and that way end up with a very nice 722 for $200 to $300 and be a very happy camper.

I just got one of those $15 barrels last week and it is a beauty, I bought it just for a spare. Never know when you might need a new barrel and for less then $25 delivered.  One can't go wrong.

I recently seen a couple of 722-VH10s on GunBroker.  If I remember correctly one had a VH10 and VH6 barrels and shrouds and went for $675.  Then you would have to tack on shipping and FFL fees.

So I would pick one up for $399 any day!

Just for comparison, there's someone local to me who has this gun advertised for $650.

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&am.....amp;lpid=2

“Dan Wesson -722- Stainless Steel 6 shot, 22LR revolver. Has both 8” and 4” interchangeable barrels. All tools, the original box, and paper work. Very few rds fired. Excellent plus plus condition, truly looks new. Very accurate. This is a rare and hard to find revolver, not seen advertised often.”

I've seen the VH10 Silhouette's go for $600 or more. They are more rare than the other Model 22's, as they have the IHMSA ram logo on the shroud, and operate in single-action only. I would buy that one right now for $399.

I pick that up in a hearbeat for that price.

As mentioned above, there is a very good chance that a 10" 22 will be one of the Silhouette guns with a single action only mechanism. (and really, who is going to shoot a 10" .22 double action anyway?)

Well I shoot my 744 8VH that way, same for the 15 357, and the 722 also. Actually I shoot all my revolver's DA mostly, got a couple S&W that are not safe to try to shoot SA because the trigger is so light.

gunguytwo,

I would say that is definitely a deal worth following thru on- especially if it is a complete/clean Pistol Pac and you have a desire to own a Dan Wesson.

If it were me, I would do it.

If you don't buy it, PM me the contact info, and the name of your psychiatrist, cause you're NUTS

Gunguytwo,

That is half price at least.  Buy it now.  You will have a very rare piece to start your DW collection and be very much a GTDW artist in the making.  There will probably be a poster of you in every gun shop with wanted on it  Laugh

I didnt see it yet but I did talk to the person some more. It is mine and I will pick it up Saturday. It has the case, buckle, patch and he says in very good condition, 2,4,6 and 8inch barrels, extra sites, wrench. How rare is this gun and I will post some picks in a new message, dont want to tread on his and it looks like I did.  Hows the trigger compared to a Smith or a Older Colt Officers model in 22?  I have to ask....what is GTDW...I know the Dan Wesson part but what is GT.....IM a rookie Dan Wesson owner
