From looking at the serial number registry here I believe your revolver is 1977-78 manufacture. To see the registry click on FAQ's at the top of the page, click "when was my gun made", and then click serial # registry. A lot of good info here so don't be a stranger.

Your frame has a slight "Barney" or plum hue starting, which is fairly common with Dans ... some don't like it and others do, it's a preference type thing. You have a 4" Standard barrel shroud, which is slightly more uncommon than the Vented Rib, Heavy Underlug or the Vented Heavy configurations and is the most preferred length.
