I shot my 15-2 on Saturday and loved it.  I realized that it did not have the white line on the back of the rear sight.  Looking close, it may have been there at one time but it is undetectable when aiming.  Anybody have a way to "paint/stick" one on it now? I have a cataract in my dominant eye so I need all the help I can get.

My Marlin 30-30 lever action is solid black so I took white finger nail polish and painted it white which helped.  I don't want to disfigure my DW so what's the remedy?

Midway USA used to offer a really nice Millet adjustable rear sight for DW.  They appear to still have some:

I have had great luck over the years using some rub-on transfer stripes that come on celluloid sheets available at hobby shops (model train and model car sections) and office supply places that carry drawing supplies.  These rub-on transfers seem to work well if you clean the sight blade well with denatured alcohol or 95% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.  The transfers even come in some different colors at some well-stocked stores.

Plastic "tape" car pinstriping will work temporarily but won't stay for long and come off right away if contacted with most gun cleaning solvents or oils.

I've also used plain old flat latex exterior house paint applied with a fine artist's brush.  The latex holds up really well compared to flat enamels.  If you need to remove the latex paint later either for repainting or for some other reason that denatured alcohol will work fine, or some household ammonia.

Great info!  I have painted with nail polish with fairly good results!  The Millets are a great site, if they have them grab two(or more) as you could make your money back in near future!

Midway shows them as discontinued.  Bummer.  I would gladly pay their price.

My Glocks have the white line on them and it really helps me with my sight picture.  I'm thinking I will let my wife do the painting.  She makes dolls and has brushes that can paint a line almost as thin as a hair.  I will take before and after picture.  Not sure I will ever try another picture on the forum since my first attempt was an embarrassment.  Thanks for all your suggestions.

I think this sounds like an excellent idea, it sounds like she would do a great job on a small area like this.laugh

Thanks Blacktop, that may be the first thing I'll try.

BTW, I should be getting my gun back from Mark next week.  Hope it turns out as well as I expect it to.  Thanks for the info and recommendation for him.  He was nice to work with.
