Has any one had a problem with wolf small pistol primers not going off. I found a couple thousand and loaded some 357 magnums with unique powder. One of my 715-2s and one 15-2 does not set them off reliably. I have not had a problem with any other ammo in these guns. My second 715-2 which has a hevyweight bobbed hammer on it sets them off every time. I usually use federal primers, but have had to take what I can get lately. jwk

jwk,

I have never used Wolf primers, just CCI and Federal for the most part.  On rare occasion I have used Remington and Winchester primers.  I have not had any real issues with any of them.

I've never used Wolf primers, but if they are a "hard" primer (like CCI), they will not go off with lighter strikes.

Thanks for the replies. That's why I use Federals normally. I hope this shortage ends soon!

I was wondering if the Wolf Primers are getting seated all the way, the heavy hammer may be driving them home and then firing them, if you try firing them a second time do they go off, I have several 1000 Wolf primers but have not used any of them yet are they a tight fit when seating them, do you seat them by hand or use an automated method, I am trying to figure this so I don't have any trouble when I do get around to using them
