OfflineThe build has begun. I found a donor Dan Wesson 357 Super Mag that was actually in better shape than my current 357SM. So the new purchase gun is being left alone and my old gun is the donor. There are no reamers available for rent and at over $230 for new and a 1 time use, isn't very cost effective. Web searches produced 3 'smiths with a 414 SM reamer.
Alan Harton will get the cylinder and extractor for reaming. I found a 10" piece of a Douglas barrel for a 41. I can thread both ends and turn to the correct OD. I'll need guidance on cutting the forcing cone. I'll try to take pix and eventually a range report.
Looking for ideas on how to remove the 357 SuperMag etching. I don't want a milled oval, I want it smooth. I have a buddy that removes the Ruger "Warning" with a file, then buffs/polishes it out. I can't even tell when I'm looking for it!.
