Repairing Barrel threads

Bought an abused shroud and barrel.  Threads on the end screwing into the frame are bad enough it won't go into the frame.  At 40 TPI its too much for my eyes to be able to line up a bit in the lathe to recut them.  Anyone have a die in the odd diam at 40 TPI?
